24 students in F1, F4 and F5 took part in the volunteering work on 6 March. Through visiting The Elderly Service Center of Kowloon City Baptish Church Social Services in Wong Tai Sin and Lok Fu branches, students are able to show their care to the elderly, thus establishing their empathy and showing concern about society. Students, teachers and the centre staff members not only distributed lunchboxes to the elderly, but also paid a visit to the elderly home, allowing students to understand the need of the elderly, enhance their communication, not to mention become more inclusive. On top of that, ready-to-eat soups sponsored by Po Leung Kuk were donated to demonstrate Po Leung spirits, namely mutual respect, united effort, benevolence, charitable, gratefulness and recognition and dedication to serving the community.
The College was awarded ‘Hong Kong Volunteer Award 2022’ co-organised by Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and Agency for Volunteer Service to commend students’ active participation in volunteering work and their contribution to society.
