To enhance students' interest in learning about traditional Chinese culture and to strengthen their national identity, our school has established a Chinese Culture Room, named “Mingde Study House.” The name comes from the opening line of the “Great Learning” in the “Book of Rites” ,which states, “The way of the Great Learning lies in manifesting virtue, in loving the people, and in resting in the ultimate good.” This reflects the fundamental principles of Confucianism regarding personal conduct and societal living. It is hoped that students will not only cultivate good character but also extend their kindness to others, inspiring those around them. Students at Po Tong are encouraged to strive for the highest moral cultivation.
The “Mingde Study House” is equipped with traditional Chinese decorations and exhibits, allowing students to attend classes in an environment rich in Chinese cultural atmosphere. In addition to regular classes, cultural activities such as calligraphy and tea art will also be held in “Mingde Study House” .
