2026-01-01
To broaden students' understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture, our school organised a series of engaging Chinese cultural activities in December, focused on exploring the essence of traditional culture and intangible cultural heritage.
1. Sichuan Face-Changing Interactive Performance
A master of Sichuan face-changing performed live,
giving students the chance to experience the joy of this traditional art form
and appreciate the charm of Sichuan opera. Through this activity, they also
learned about its rich history, equipping students with the Chinese cultural
value of "emphasizing relationships and knowing etiquette."
2. Guangdong Lion Dance Performance
A professional lion dance troupe delivered an
interactive performance, allowing students to learn about the history of
Guangdong lion dance while participating in this exhilarating and lively lion
dance experience. Students tried operating the lion costume themselves,
experiencing the importance of teamwork and physical coordination.
3. Chinese Culture Day
Themed "Physical and Mental Health, Cultural
Heritage", the Chinese Culture Day featured a shadow puppet show of
"Mencius' Mother Teaching Her Son," allowing students to appreciate
the elegance of this art form. Additionally, various games and experience
booths were set up, including a mini Chinese medicine clinic, making herbal
sachets with twelve traditional herbs, Chinese martial arts experiences,
paper-cutting, and facial painting, enabling students to deepen their
understanding of traditional culture through games.
4. Interactive Performance of Chinese Historical
Costumes
This performance not only guided students to
understand the clothing culture of various dynasties but also allowed them to
appreciate the wisdom of ancient Chinese and the unique aesthetics of Chinese
tradition.
Throughout the activities, students actively engaged, demonstrating respect and love for traditional Chinese culture, thereby building cultural confidence and nurturing a stronger national identity.
