Two students from our school, YUAN KAIZHI and XIE JIEYU, participated in the "I Love My Motherland – The Victory Of The Chinese People's War Of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" Golden Bauhinia Cup Hong Kong Inter-school Essay and Putonghua Recitation Competition, organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organizations. After an intense round of competition, both students successfully advanced to the semi-finals out of nearly 200 contestants. Among them, our Form 2 student YUAN KAIZHI further qualified for the grand final held on 5^th October (Sunday) at the Lecture Theatre of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, where he competed with students from nine other secondary schools for top honors.

YUAN delivered a passionate and powerful recitation of “Our War of Resistance, Our Era,” expressing his deep emotions over the victory of the resistance, his heartfelt love for the motherland, and a strong message of peace. His performance moved the audience and earned high praise from the panel of judges, ultimately winning him the highest honor—the “Grand Prize.”

YUAN was thrilled to receive this prestigious award and expressed his sincere gratitude to the school for providing him with this valuable opportunity; to Principal Lo for attending the event in support; and to teachers Ms. Au Yeung and Ms. Zhou for their dedicated guidance and training. He described the experience as both precious and unforgettable, not only deepening his understanding of the history of the War of Resistance, but also enhancing his sense of national pride as a Chinese person.
